Judith McConnell was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She started dancing at the age of five and continued her studies in ballet and tap through high school. She studied acting at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Mellon University. In 1965, she was crowned Miss Pennsylvania and competed in the Miss America Pageant. Judith's first big break came when she landed a role in the pilot of Judd for the Defense. Her other television credits include recurring roles on The Beverly Hillbillies and Green Acres. A daytime veteran, Judith played Augusta McLeod on General Hospital, Valerie Conway on As the World Turns and Miranda Bishop on Another World. In 1984, she joined the cast of Santa Barbara as the long-suffering Sophia Capwell. During her first months on the show, Judith portrayed a man, Dominic, in order to keep her soap family of learning of her character's return to town. Throughout the years, Judith has guest-starred on numerous TV shows. She was also seen in several films and commercials. Judith's birthdate is April 6, 1944. She has never been married. In 1990, she adopted a daughter named Gwendolyn. |
