Dr. Alex Nikolas,
1987-88Michael Durrell was born in Brooklyn and raised in Hartford, the son of a Sicilian shoemaker who wanted Michael to follow him in that business. As a young man, Michael tried to please his father and enrolled in Boston University as a business and economics major. Unable to keep up the charade for very long, he finally switched his major to fine arts. Later, he studied acting with a female acting coach, who managed to convince Michael's father that show biz wasn't really a bad profession after all. Michael's many television credits include The Guiding Light, V, Alice, Shannon, Nobody's Perfect, Soap, I'm a Big Girl Now, Hill Street Blues, Matlock, Beverly Hills 90210 and the miniseries Chiefs. He had guest spots on numerous other series, including Kojak, Dynasty, Cagney & Lacey, Highway to Heaven, Remington Steele, Hotel, Knight Rider and Desperate Housewives. He also appeared in the television motion pictures A Killing Affair, The Immigrants and When Every Day Was the Fourth of July. Michael's feature film appearances include roles in Thank God It's Friday and Sister Act. A veteran of the Broadway stage, he starred in The Sunshine Boys with Jack Albertson and in Murder Among Friends with Janet Leigh. Michael is married to soap producer Charlotte Savitz and has a daughter, Gabriele. His birthdate is October 6, 1943. |
