1991-93The youngest of seven children, Eileen Davidson was born on June 15, 1959 in Artesia, California and grew up in La Mirada, California. As a teenager, Eileen was discovered by a photographer who persuaded her to model. Then, at nineteen, she moved to Los Angeles where she began taking drama classes between modeling assignments. She got her feet wet as an actress in student films and the slasher flick The House on Sorority Row. In 1982, at age twenty-two, Eileen landed the role of Ashley Abbott on the popular soap opera The Young and the Restless. After leaving that show in 1988, she appeared on the big screen in Eternity with Jon Voight and Easy Wheels with Paul LeMat. Around this time, she also had roles in the primetime series Broken Badges and the TV movie Sharing Richard. In 1991, Eileen was hired to replace Carrington Garland as Kelly Capwell on Santa Barbara. After SB was canceled, Eileen joined the cast of Days of Our Lives as Kristen Blake. During her Days stint, she became the first performer on daytime TV to portray five separate characters at the same time, a feat that won her an Emmy nomination as Best Actress. Eileen returned to the role of Ashley on The Young and the Restless in 1999. Since then, she has also played this part on Y&R's sister soap, The Bold and the Beautiful. Furthermore, she has written several novels in recent years. Her first novel, Death in Daytime, debuted in 2008. Eileen is married to actor Vince Van Patten. They have a son together, Jesse (b. 2003). Eileen was previously married to actors Chip Mayer and Jon Lindstrom. |
