Lionel turns out to be alive.

JUNE 4, 1990 (Ep. #1475)
Cruz is unsuccessful at getting answers out of the man who tried to kill him and Eden. The guy would rather die than talk, and Cruz prevents him from committing suicide. Meanwhile, Eden suggests to Cruz that the talisman is a lucky charm. C.C. and Sophia learn from Julia that Mason disappeared and that Lionel is dead. Wanting the boys to leave Mason alone, C.C. makes a threat against Ethan to drive them all out of town. Shannon's father is released from prison and they share a touching reunion. When Laura's bus, transferring her to prison, stops to pick up more people, Annie slides into the driver's seat and takes off. At first grateful for the rescue, Laura is shocked to learn that Annie is kidnapping her! Laken comes home to mourn her father's death. Augusta receives Lionel's ashes and a box he left behind for C.C., who's intrigued when he learns about it.

JUNE 5, 1990 (Ep. #1476)
When Mack meets Laken, he is immediately drawn to her and notices how different she is from her mother. Augusta gives C.C. the box that Lionel left behind for him to be opened upon Lionel's death. In it, C.C. finds a letter wishing peace between the two families, and another assuring him that Sophia always loved C.C. best. Despite Mason's disappearance, Derek is determined to avenge Cassie by killing him. He fails to learn from C.C. where Mason is and suspects that Hunt is responsible for his disappearance. Hunt tries to make amends with Kelly. He admits to her that he planted the evidence that convicted Frank Pressman twenty years ago. Bunny convinces Gina to accept a job at the Lair.

JUNE 6, 1990 (Ep. #1477)
Cruz and Eden return home, where the threat seems to be over. Cruz learns from Interpol that the men who attacked them in Paris were seeking revenge against Cruz for putting away some crime figure years earlier. The Interpol information is false, however; the mystery men are still after Cruz. Augusta, in mourning, is devastated when she has no place to hold Lionel's memorial service. C.C. offers to hold it at his house, and Augusta accepts. Stephen's final scene insinuates that Mason killed Cassie. When Sophia tells C.C. the news, he doesn't want the film to be released. To C.C. and Sophia's surprise, Gina arranges for Brandon to live with the Capwells for the summer. She tells Mack it's part of her plan. Derek is intent on locating Mason and resorts to tapping Julia's phone.

JUNE 7, 1990 (Ep. #1478)
Mack and Gretchen make love at the stables, even though she's a married lady. Nikki and Amado apply for jobs at Bar None to dance, wait tables and handle the bar. Gretchen turns out to be the manager of the place and hires the two after seeing their dance act. Ric learns that Gretchen is Tawny's stepmother. Kelly overhears C.C. and Julia discussing Mason's disappearance and becomes distant with Hunt. Derek listens in on Julia's phone calls in order to find and execute Mason. When Hunt, in a disguised voice, calls Julia, Derek knows it's him. Using Hunt's voice, Derek takes advantage of the situation and sets a trap. Now that they're fugitives from justice, Laura persuades Annie to stop holding her prisoner. They change into disguises in a gas station bathroom.

JUNE 8, 1990 (Ep. #1479)
Lionel's memorial service is held at the Capwell house, attracting people from all corners of the world. Augusta accidentally drops Lionel's ashes. After the service, she gets into her limo and faints when she sees that her driver is none other than Lionel! Derek reaches Mason by phone, and in a disguised voice, tells him to meet at the tunnel for information. Hunt is suspicious of Derek and discovers that he's setting Mason up to kill him. After Cruz unwittingly loses his talisman in the desert, he gets bitten by a scorpion. Eden finds the talisman and after returning home, Cruz spots the talisman and holds it close to him. Later, he's stunned to find the scorpion wound gone.
