JANUARY 8, 1990 (Ep. #1371)
Laura steals Gina's earrings. After Ethan leaves the money for the blackmailer, Laura plants one of the earrings at the drop-off site and retrieves the money, trying to incriminate Gina. Mack gives Laura attention and when she wonders if there's an attraction, he doesn't deny it. Cruz stops kissing Nikki when he sees Eden's return to the tube, and ends their evening. Later, Eden informs Cruz that she's being sent on assignment. Cruz is not pleased and reminds Eden of her responsibilities to their children, but she tells him if he's so concerned he should come back. Alone with Kelly, Robert savagely demands that she take off her clothes. But she refuses to be treated like a whore just because he's been hurt by Eden. Kelly and Henry, the horse trainer, secretly watch as Travis takes out a coded ledger and picks up a hypodermic needle. Kelly is surprised to see that Nikki is also spying on Travis. Robert informs Kelly that the ledger lists all of the stable's illegal activities, i.e. fixing horse races by drugging the horses. He surreptitiously leaves Cruz the ledger.

JANUARY 9, 1990 (Ep. #1372)
Augusta moves in with Julia to support her and because money is tight. A drunk Mason refuses to let Julia dissolve their marriage and tries to force his way back into her house. She refuses to take him back. When Kelly is caught at the police bust at the stable, Cruz is forced to question her. Robert backs up Kelly's story that she was there because she wanted to work with Dark Victor. Robert denies to Cruz any knowlegde of the stable's illegal operations. After Travis is arrested, Cruz questions Nikki about him. Suddenly, Travis grabs a cop's gun and holds it on Nikki, threatening to kill her if anyone tries to stop him. As Travis escapes with Nikki in town, Cruz is clearly concerned for her. Laura plays up to Mack, but this attempt to make Ethan jealous fails when he says he doesn't care. Ethan finds the earring at the drop-off site, but knowing Gina wasn't wearing them, realizes Laura must have planted it. He tells Laura she's a hateful, destructive woman and as soon as the blackmail situation is over, he's getting a divorce. For his part, Mack suspects Gina of being the blackmailer.

JANUARY 10, 1990 (Ep. #1373)
Cruz is suspicious about Nikki's reappearance and tries to get the truth out of her, especially after learning that Kelly saw her at the stable. Nikki covers by suggesting that Cruz has been unable to trust women since his wife let him down. When Cruz comments on his father's growing affection for Nikki, Rafael insists that it's Cruz she's hooked on. Cruz's thoughts turn to Eden when he sees her postcard from Paris. Robert assures Ethan that he's not being controlled by the mob. At Santa Anita, Kelly is delighted to find out that Robert is racing Dark Victor and to hear she owns the horse. As she goes to the winner's circle, a mobster punches Robert. Robert grabs the thug and gets him to back off by threatening him. Ethan enlists Michael's help in catching the blackmailer. Laura's behavior escalates to the point where Ethan tells her she needs professional help.

JANUARY 11, 1990 (Ep. #1374)
The Capwells try to convince Mason to give up the bottle. Emily tells him what it was like to be the daughter of an alcoholic. Mason sobers up and dashes Sasha's hopes of having a future with him. Mason tells Julia about his decision to give up drinking, but she sadly gives him a restraining order restricting him from coming within fifteen feet of her and Samantha. Mason then sets up camp at the beach, fifteen and a half feet from Julia's. Using a bullhorn, he sings and recites poetry to Julia in his campaign to win her back. C.C. invites Sophia to go away with him, but she learns that a Hollywood producer is interested in having her read a script. Disguised as Gina, Laura picks up the blackmail money, knowing that Ethan and Michael are watching. She puts some of the money in Gina's purse. Gina inadvertently gives Mack the planted money.

JANUARY 12, 1990 (Ep. #1375)
Augusta announces to Robert and Kelly that Dark Victor is legally her horse and shows them the ownership papers. Robert promises Kelly he'll buy Dark Victor back. Nikki arrives at Cruz's house, soaked from the rainstorm, and he's upset when he sees her wearing Eden's robe to get warm. Travis knocks Kelly unconscious, but Nikki prevents him from running off with the horse. Later, at the hospital, Kelly tells Robert that while she was unconscious, she dreamt about making love with him. Trying to win Julia back, Mason records himself making a declaration of love which he then hooks to Julia's television as The Mason Loves Julia Show. He also sends her a wheelbarrow of rose. At the same time, he's outside in the rainstorm with an umbrella singing "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head." To stop the craziness, Julia agrees to tear up the restraining order against him. Laura plays up to Mack, intimating that she's pregnant... but not for long. Mack tells Ethan, who rushes to the hospital. He stops Laura from having an abortion with a promise to work things out together. Mack is arrested after spending one of the marked bills at the Lair.
